2012 UPDATE:
Richland County Habitat is currently working on a rehab project on Marion Avenue. The home is a 3 bedroom, two story house that is being modified and brought up to code. Purchase and rehab of the house is being funded by the Neighborhood Stabilization Program through the city of Mansfield, and State of Ohio.
Through NSP Habitat has purchased 3 homes. In the next 30 months, the homes will be rehabilitated. The homes will be sold at zero percent interest to qualifying families through the Habitat program. As part of their requirements, these families will go through HUD credit counseling, Sweat Equity classes on home ownership, maintenance, smart spending and others. In addition, each family/individual will invest 300-500 sweat equity classes on their home and volunteering on others. All of these hours must be completed before they can assume ownership of their homes.
We also have plans to start new construction on another Habitat home is Shelby. More details coming soon!

New Home Finished On Warden Avenue!
Work has been completed on the new construction of single family home at 1034 Warden Avenue in Mansfield.
This house will be occupied by a single mom with three children who are very excited and thankful to be moving into their new home. We want to offer our sincere thanks to our sponsors First Energy Corporation and Lowe's, and to all of the volunteers who helped get this home finished ahead of schedule.
A special ceremony was held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 5PM on site, to ask for blessings on the home and the family that will be occupying it, and for the many volunteers whose sacrifices made it all happen!
