Cleveland Indians Visit Newman Street Build

Indians players pose inside the Newman Home
On Monday, January 21, 2008, we were very fortunate to meet 4 members of the Cleveland Indians who made a stop at our Newman Street project to show support for the Habitat and to the many volunteers who make it all possible.

Pictured left to right are Jake Westbrook, Jim Rosenhaus, Shin-soo Choo and Joel Skinner.

We had a wonderful time meeting and greeting these great supporters of Habitat for Humanity. Thank you to the Cleveland Indians for helping get the word out about what we do. Best wishes in the upcoming 2008 season. Go Tribe!

Volunteer Recognition Banquet A Great Success

Attendees from the First Presbyterian Church mingle
On April 24, 2007, more than 100 people gathered at the Brown Derby Roadhouse to celebrate the Habitat for Humanity program, and honor it's volunteers. Sponsored by Mechanics Bank, this year's event was themed "Building for the Future....Now".

This year, Richland County Habitat for Humanity (RCHFH) honored it's Volunteer of the Year, Steven Andrews & MKC Associates, with the Stevenson Award. This award is given in the memory of Bill Stevenson, a

long time volunteer of RCHFH. Mr. Andrews is responsible for drafting and adjusting the house plans used in the construction of local Habitat homes.

Attendees were treated to dinner music performed by Eddie Blue. A silent auction featuring items donated by area and state businesses, raised over $6,000 dollars for our local chapter.
